Landscape Paintings
I paint watercolor. It is a form of observation that helps me see, formulate concepts for sculpture, refresh my perspective, and document my life. Landscape, for me, is a source of spiritual exploration. Hiking through wilderness offers the greatest reward for time spent. Painting from nature is a process of being still and observing; of not thinking, but responding; of expressing with color and shape instead of words. These watercolors are from the Columbia Gorge, Oregon, Washington wilderness areas and beyond. Some painted en plein air, others in the studio.
